After a fire, most people expect the damage to end when the flames do. It doesn’t. The restoration process that follows, from the first emergency board-up to the final coat of paint, typically unfolds across several distinct phases and can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months depending on how much the fire burned, how long the smoke circulated, and how much water the suppression effort left behind.
